Waikiki
A month after my trip to O’ahu in February, I was back for some more Vitamin D and seaside cocktails. It’s easily my favorite island, and I was thrilled to be back so soon for a quick weekend getaway to see someone I recently started dating.
I arrived on Saturday afternoon and immediately hit the beach, it was perfect weather and such a nice break from the grey Seattle winter. Diamond Head in the distance was so pretty.
We were staying at The Royal Hawaiian, which is in my opinion the prettiest hotel in Waikiki. I loved the pink and green colors everywhere, and the classic wood details and art.
For dinner we went to JINYA Ramen Bar, it was such a pretty restaurant and the food was delicious, I highly recommend.
Afterwards we went clubbing at Sky Waikiki and then Scarlet. The first club was not great, there was a $20 cover fee, the music was very basic, and there was barely anyone dancing, with limited space. We got drinks and only stayed about ten minutes before ubering to the next club. This was a gay club so you know the energy was already much better. The place was packed, and there were multiple rooms and stages with much better music. We stayed there until the club closed and I had so much fun and met some really cool people, I’d definitely go back.
The next morning we enjoyed some breakfast at the beachfront restaurant at the hotel. It was another perfect, sunny day. We headed to the Ala Moana Mall afterwards for some shopping and massages. It was my first time getting a professional massage and I loved it.
After watching the sunset at the beach, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner at Arancino Di Mare in the Marriot hotel. It was a beautiful night out and we walked along the stores on the main beachfront, enjoying the warm weather.
The next morning I enjoyed hanging out in the hotel and at the pool before packing up and heading back to the airport. It was a very quick but fun weekend and I was so thankful to escape the Seattle weather again. I’m hoping I’ll be able to visit again for a little longer, and explore more of the island.
