EDC Las Vegas - 2024
In May I got the amazing opportunity to travel to Las Vegas for EDC 2024! This was an incredible trip that introduced me to the world of raving, a community that I have since come to completely love. This was a pretty wild experience, especially since a week before I left for Vegas I had never even heard of EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival), which is the biggest annual rave festival in North America and one of the largest raves in the world.
Day 1
For Day 1 of the festival I got to kick off the night by taking a helicopter from Vegas straight to EDC! I had never ridden in a helicopter before and I was thrilled to experience such an amazing moment.
After landing I explored some of the areas in the camping area of the festival called “Camp EDC”. Camping at festivals is a popular and convenient option for accessing the festival itself, especially when it comes to EDC Vegas, since the event is held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway which is a decent drive outside of the city.
I was truly blown away by the incredible set up of this event. The amount of detail and sheer size of the festival was insane. EDC attracts over 500,000 attendees each year — wandering around seeing all of the incredible outfits, packed stages, fairground rides and incredible music was exactly what the festival claims to be: electric!
Some of my favorite artists from night 1 were David Guetta, Illenium, John Summit and Subtronics.
My favorite part of the night was easily the incredible fireworks show that happens at midnight each night of the festival. I had a great view from the VIP deck at the main stage and was in awe of the beautiful show!
Day 2
The next day I spent some time at the hotel pool recovering and relaxing. I stayed at the Cosmopolitan and loved all the amenities, especially the beautiful views of the strip and the Bellagio fountains.
Night 2 was even more exciting than night 1 — I met a super fun group of people who I danced with all night. I was starting to really see why so many people were drawn to the rave community, everyone was so generous, energetic and caring!
The fireworks were amazing yet again and I got to see more incredible artists like Tiësto, DJ Snake, Dillon Francis, Dom Dolla, Purple Disco Machine, and two of my all time favorites: Alison Wonderland and Zedd!
Day 3
I was so exhausted from the past two nights that I almost decided to call it and not attend the final night of the festival. Events like this are truly a marathon and not a sprint, as I was learning. But I had started to truly understand what a special experience and opportunity I had stumbled across so I decided to turn out for the last night!
I was so thrilled to be able to see Sofi Tukker, who I had also gotten a chance to see in summer of 2023. Their set was amazing and the visuals and colors were all so beautiful.
I saw John Summit, Kaskade, Deadmau5, Martin Garrix, Alesso, and some more of my favorites, FISHER and Diplo, before the night was over (or should I say morning, we left around 6 am).
I got back to the hotel as the sun was rising and enjoyed the beautiful view from the balcony.
This experience as a whole genuinely changed my life, as cheesy as it might sound! I was introduced to a community full of vibrant, kind, creative, and energetic people who love to be close with others, travel to new places, and enjoy amazing music together. I have always loved traveling, socializing, meeting new people, dressing up and going to concerts or enjoying live music — now I’ve found a place where all of these passions converge! Next year I hope to come back to Vegas for EDC 2025 where I’ll meet even more amazing people and see some of my favorite EDM artists.
